MIDDLE YEAR ARTISTS!

Year 6 continue to work hard sewing, sewing, sewing to bless the Preps in their journey to become more like Christ.  They have interpreted a Prep’s drawing and then created a 3D toy from that drawing.  Lots more to come!

Year 7 have finished formal classes in art and are thoroughly enjoying their Future Focus Program.  In their final week they worked in groups to resolve their Indigenous Group Mural – the results are fantastic!! By researching contemporary Indigenous Christian artists, they gained appreciation of style and story.

Year 8 have also finished formal art classes and amazed me by completing a full artwork in a double period workshop! Their merged perspective artworks are stunning and may form a mural in the school grounds in the future.

Many artworks from the Middle School will be on display at the Presentation Evening along with artwork from all year levels! I encourage you to celebrate the artistic journey of your child – ask them about their artwork, discus the elements of each and the meaning behind it.  Cherish it when it comes home! There have been many hours of research, reflection and persistence from them all.
