Student Achievement in Swinburne Early Leaders Program

I would like to congratulate one of our students, Sadhana Sridhar, who completed The Swinburne Early Leaders Program this year and was awarded 3 certificates and a trophy for her participation.

Sadhana wrote:

"The Swinburne Early Leaders Program (ELP) helps secondary school students prepare for their transition from high school to university and be recognised for their extra- curricular activities. This program involves completing one academic & research certification, along with another elective certification of the student’s preference (these include creativity, community engagement, and career development).

As a part of ELP, I completed the academic and research certificate and career development certificate. Recognising this completion, Swinburne university awarded me with three certificates and a trophy.

What I took from this program was enormous. it helped me to:

  • Develop communication skills (interviewed a Swinburne university student);
  • Improve my research and report writing skills;
  • Gain more knowledge on transition phase to university;
  • Improve my organisational skills;
  • Gain an insight into my post-school interests and what my future looks like."

An amazing accomplishment Sadhana.

The Swinburne Early Leaders Program will be open again next year for any students who may be interested in participating in the program. Once it opens I will advertise it in the Career Newsletter in 2019 so keep your eyes open for it.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me, kirstine.carter@jmss.vic.edu.auor you can also come and see me on the ground floor near the stairs under Flannery House.

Happy Reading!
