Dear Parents and Students,

I am writing to you from Kyoto Japan, where  our JMSS team (Madhulika Raghunath, Jenny Hu, Daniel Cornelius, Mr Malcolm Anderson and I) are currently participating in the Japan Super Science Fair (JSSF).

There are 29 international schools and 9 local schools which participate in this event.  It’s a huge event with students from all over the world showcasing their work in the different areas of science.  There is a lot of camaraderie amongst the students, all sharing and exchanging the findings of their investigations.

We are now on Day 2 of the JSSF and I must say, I am simply in awe of the high standard of the students’ project investigations.   Our students  confidently presented their project investigation.  Their project topic is on the investigation of the Rubisco Gene in organic and non-organic strawberries.  I am very proud of our students.  They worked as a team and delivered with finesse. Madhu, Jenny and Daniel have all done us proud.

Farewell to Ms. Nirousha Rengarajoo

It is with much sadness for me to announce that Ms Nirousha Rengarajoo will be leaving JMSS at the end of this month.

She will be returning to Singapore.  Nirousha has been our Student Counsellor in the last 12 months and in this short time, she has made an enormously positive impact on students who have sought counselling from her.

I would like to thank Nirousha for all her work and wish her the very best for her future.  We will miss her.
