VET ACTING STUNT WORKSHOP

Congratulations to the VET Acting Certificate II students who participated in the Stunt Acting workshop last week with Chris Peters.

Students did a fantastic job safely manipulating punches, kicks, throw backs and falls. I look forward to seeing everyone include these in their action scripts later in the term.

ALL SHOOK UP

We have almost completed the songs and blocking for Act 1 and the show is actually starting to have a real vibe about it.

We encourage the cast to continue practicing on their own at home, as there is sometimes quite a lengthy break between revisiting songs and scenes that have already been rehearsed.

Chorus and featured chorus members were given their costume requirements for Act 2 at the rehearsal this Thursday. This will also be posted on the students’ Compass portal under ‘Resources’ which is also where you’ll find the most recent rehearsal schedule.

We are hoping that students will be able to source their own costume but if you are unable to do this, please contact Ms Goode or Miss Cumming at school and we can try to make alternate arrangements.

Just a reminder, we are having 2 rehearsals during the upcoming school holidays; Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 July, 10 am to 3 pm in the School Hall.

Weekend rehearsals will commence on Sunday 19 July with alternate Saturdays and Sundays until production week.

Sound, lighting and band students have been contacted and provided with indemnity forms. These need to be returned to the School Office with full payment of $30 as soon as possible to ensure they have their names printed on the production t-shirt.

Early next term we will also be looking for students who can help out with backstage, ushering, hair and make-up.  Keep a look out for Compass notices in regards to this.

Stay warm and well!
