LATE TO SCHOOL
During this term, an increasing number of Year 9 and 10 students have been arriving late to school.
Parents/Guardians and students are reminded, all students must arrive at school by 8.30 am. This gives them time to put bags in lockers and organise their books for Periods 1 and 2.
Form Assembly commences at 8.40 am. It is imperative that students attend Form Assembly to receive important information.
Students who arrive late for school are required to sign in at the Middle School Office and provide a satisfactory written note of explanation. Late arrival explanations, can also be left on the School Absence Line.
A lunchtime detention will be given to students who arrive without a note of explanation.
YEAR 10 EXAMS
Monday 15, Tuesday 16 and Thursday 18 June
NORMAL CLASSES HELD WEDNESDAY 17 JUNE (INCLUDING VET)
Important Exam Information
- Full school uniform must be worn for all exam days.
- Students must be outside the School Hall, 15 minutes before each exam starting.
- Students are responsible for supplying all of their own resources (pens, pencils, calculator, dictionary, etc).
- Any exam clashes must be rescheduled into the next available slot. Please see the Middle School Coordinators.
- Time between exams must be spent studying in the Library. Students can not leave school.
- Students absent on the day of an exam, will need to see the Middle School Coordinators to arrange a catch up exam.
- Students can leave immediately after their last exam on each day. Students are NOT permitted to leave the school and then return.
2016 MIDDLE SCHOOL COURSE SELECTION EVENING
Tuesday 28 July
6.30 pm
School Hall
The purpose of this evening is to give parents/guardians and students the opportunity to find out more about various course offerings at Middle School and VCE for 2016.
You and your son/daughter will be asked to make important course selection choices during Term 3.
By attending the information evening you and your son/daughter will find out about:
- the guidelines/requirements for a balanced course
- the timeline/procedure for choosing courses
- the costs involved with some of the courses
The Careers teachers will be on hand to answer questions about how course selection at Middle School has bearing on studies at Senior School and at tertiary institutions.
Early in Term 3, all Year 9 students will receive a school notice regarding this evening.
YEAR 10 MIPs INTERVIEWS
Thursday 30 July
Lutheran Church
Lilydale
All Year 10 students will have a 15 minute interview with a MIPs Counsellor at the Lutheran Church, Lilydale.
It is compulsory for all students to attend their interview. Parents and Guardians are encouraged to attend these interviews with their son/daughter.
Interview letters will be posted home shortly, informing parents/guardians and students the interview time (between 8.30 am and 3.00 pm).
2015 YEAR 10 FORMAL
Friday 21 August
Karralyka Centre (Ringwood East)
6.30 pm - 10.30 pm
All Year 10 students will receive a Year 10 Formal notice the first week of Term 3.
The notice will include the following information;
- Cost
- Dress Attire
- Important conditions which apply on the evening (school rules apply)
- Payment due date
- Photographer details
- And more
CONFIDENTIAL DETAILS FORMS
Year 10 students
The School Office recently posted home Year 10 confidential details forms for parents/guardians to amend/update records for their son/daughter.
Please return the forms even if there are no changes so we can verify our records accordingly.
ABSENT FROM SCHOOL
Year 9 and 10 parents and guardians are reminded to ring the school Absence Line before 9.30 am to advise a student absence OR late arrival.
The student name, form group and the reason for absence/late arrival should be advised. An absence note is then not required.
The school should also be advised if a student is expected to be absent for more than two days.
A school SMS MESSAGE will be sent to parents, when a student has been marked NOT PRESENT for Form Assembly, Periods 1 and 2.
OUTSTANDING ABSENCES
Year 9 and 10 students are reminded to return outstanding absence notes to Miss Kelso in the Middle School Office.
