YEAR 7 NEWS

Our Year 7 students have been busy working through their assessments before their Semester 1 reports are written.

A reminder to parents and guardians to look out for the reports through Compass from Tuesday 23 June. These reports can be a great indication of how your son or daughter has transitioned to secondary school and may highlight things that need to be addressed in terms of application and effort to their studies.

The Compass Portal is available to all parents and guardians for ease of communication with teachers should you have any questions or concerns regarding the reports.

Parents and guardians who have not received their username and password or may have forgotten their details, should contact the Junior School Office and speak with our Sub School Assistant.

YEAR 7 LEADERSHIP CAMP

It was a pleasure for the coordinators to take a group of our future leaders on the Year 7 Leadership camp last fortnight.

The students were briefed on various aspects of effective leadership and asked to consider how they can grow as leaders.

It’s always rewarding for our Junior School Coordinators to work with such positive and energetic students.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

As the colder weather approaches, I would like to remind parents and guardians, that all students need to ensure they are keeping up their high standards in terms of uniform and wearing only the approved school jumper and the school weatherproof jacket.

All uniform requirements including shoes are available through Lowes (Lilydale Market Place, Shopping Centre).

END OF TERM 2

The following fortnight will see us wrap up the term and the semester.  This term has seen our students

really settle in to their surroundings and acclimatise to secondary school life. They should be proud of the transition they have made and the way they have established themselves as an upbeat and cheerful cohort.

The purpose of this evening is to give Year 8 parents/guardians and students the opportunity to find out more about various course offerings at Middle School for 2016.

You and your son/daughter will be asked to make important course selection choices during Term 3.

By attending the information evening you and your son/daughter will find out about:

  • the guidelines/requirements for a balanced course
  • the timeline/procedure for choosing courses
  • the costs involved with some of the courses

The Careers teachers will be on hand to answer questions about how course selection at Middle School has bearing on studies at Senior School and at tertiary institutions.
