Year 10 and 11 Managed Individual Pathways (MIPS) Interview Days

Year 10 - Thursday 30 July

Lilydale High School is committed to ensuring that each student chooses their VCE Course appropriately and develops a Managed Individual Pathway to achieve their personal education and career goals. 

 

A compulsory 15 minute VCE Course Selection/Managed Individual Pathways interview is required as part of the VCE Course Selection Process, which will take place on Thursday 30 July for all Year 10 students and Friday 31 July forall Year 11 students at the Lutheran Church, North Road, Lilydale.  

 

Parents will be mailed shortly with an interview time.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Years 10 to 12 

Students from Years 10 to 12 have the opportunity this year to undertake Work Experience to develop their awareness of appropriate attitudes and behaviour in real work environments, to explore employment and career options, to develop contacts with potential employers and to observe the use made of skills taught in school subjects. 

 

Work Experience at Lilydale High School can occur at any time within the school year for up to 5 school days or 10 days, utilising part or all of the school holidays. 

 

Students interested in completing Work Experience should speak with a Careers Practitioner who will inform them of the necessary processes forms required to complete Work Experience.

MELBOURNE CAREER EXPO

24 – 26 July 

10 am - 3 pm

 

This expo will have opportunities for a large variety of careers, with jobs on offer, advice on career development, seminars, options for training or courses, and a huge variety of industries and organisations represented.

EXPERIENCE LA TROBE 

A chance to get to know the La Trobe community and be a uni student for a day. 

 

Find out what happens after secondary school and attend workshops, seminars and lectures of your choice. Lunch and entertainment provided.

UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE

9-10 July

Year 11 students from a rural and border regions, those who are first in their family to consider tertiary study, and Indigenous Australian and Torres Strait Islander students are invited to the Parkville campus on 9-10 July.

 

UniExperience gives you the chance to try university life. The program offers sessions covering all aspects of tertiary study including accommodation in a residential college, campus tours, information about courses, workshops on transition to university, scholarships and study skills, and social activities; also meet current students. 

Cost: $100 - (limited places)
