Harmony Week in F/1

Harmony Week is about people who are different and we share and get along. We come from different countries. We come from different schools and families. During Harmony week we read "We are all Different" and we wore the colour orange. We made a picture together with different colours.

Numeracy in F/1

We have been learning about number lines and how we can use them to help us with adding and subtracting. We use a variety of fun and engaging ways to learn, using concrete materials and technology.

Numeracy in 2/3

We've been trying to EXPLAIN our thinking in many different ways, which has been a learning curve for some who have their own "go to" strategy for any addition problem. This gives students a chance to demonstrate their full understanding of a problem and the concept, rather than simply using one 'process' all the time. Here is what students have come up with.

Numeracy Games in our classrooms

Our Professional Development Day last Friday with Michael Minas has got us all thinking about games in our classroom. Each classroom has been trialing some of these, with great success. Who knew maths could be so much fun? Have a look at some of these games and have a go over the holidays. In the videos Michael plays with his son to teach you the rules of each game.https://www.lovemaths.me/games

Junior Landcare Bandicoots

We had a visit from Emma from the Junior Landcare Group. We made bandicoot noses. We went outside and we flattened the sand and then we put our noses on the flat sand and then we looked to see if we could see the print from it. We went outside and we tried to see if we could see bandicoots. We went inside and then we read a story with Emma. I learned that cats need to stay in at night because they can hurt bandicoots.
