Principal's Update

Welcome to Term 2! Students have all settled in well to the new term and we have seen some great work completed already. I would also like to welcome our new students to Cobram Primary School. We have had quite a few new enrolments this term and I would like to congratulate them on how well they have settled into our school routine. If you see some new faces around the school please make sure you say hi!

We have started the term off with lots of activities already - ANZAC Day, Ottrey Lodge visit, Cobram Secondary College ANZAC Ceremony and Winter Sport. Across the rest of the term we will continue to have many things happening and we ask parents to keep an eye on events for your students. Please remember to send permission forms back by the due date to ensure your child can attend planned events. Next week we have Cross Country, GRIP Leadership Course and Taster Day at Cobram Secondary College, plus the Mother's Day Stall, Mother's Day Breakfast and Do It For Dolly Day.

Whilst there are lots of events happening, we continue to place our priorities on classroom learning. It is essential that students arrive at school on time and are ready to learn every day. Arriving late to class means that students have missed the mini lesson at the start and are unsure of the task required of them, this is not only disruptive to the student but also to the entire class. Please assist us by ensuring your child arrives on time for school each morning.

We love to see the initiative of our students across the school. This term we have already had students running break time activities, helping out other students and organising competitions and events. Well done to Noah, Cooper and Kaiden who are currently organising a Chess Competition!

I would also like to mention the fantastic effort Misty has put in to organising the Do It For Dolly Day. Misty started by researching what the Do It For Dolly Day is about, she then wrote a persuasive essay and presented it to us, asking if the school could participate. What a fabulous effort Misty put in! Due to this Cobram Primary School will be participating in Do It For Dolly Day next Friday 12th May. This sort of effort put in by our students is to be commended!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Regards
