Yarning Circle News
Term 2 has arrived and with the school coming back so has the yarning circle. The first fortnight of Term 2 has seen the yarning circle look at a significant date, crafting and cooking.
ANZAC day highlighted the first week of the term, as such the yarning group had a look at Indigenous Australians contribution to the war. Even though many challenges faced our indigenous population at that time, many still served in the war for our country. After some discussions around ANZAC day and our indigenous people who served, the students made a headband with the colours of the indigenous flag to show their support and appreciation of those who served.
This week in the yarning circle we had no significant dates to celebrate, instead we had a chance to do some cooking! Students made a dip with some indigenous spices and were able enjoy this dip with some bush bread. Whilst students were enjoying some of their own made dip, they did some colouring to decorate the empty wall which resides in the library.
