Principal's Report

Prep Information Night

On Wednesday night we hosted our annual Prep Information Night while opening up the school for tours to potential families. Here we saw our school leaders showcase our school to a great number of families who took time out of their busy lives to come and see what we have to offer.  Our leaders, lead groups of visitors through our amazing classrooms, shared students work, explained the importance of their learning intentions and what their learning looks like here at Echuca East, while sharing their personal insights and reflections from being an “Eastie”.

When parents visit a school, they want to see how their child would fit in and what their daily life would be like. By having our Student Leaders lead the tours, parents can get a first hand perspective of the school from the student’s point of view. This approach helps parents to see our school’s culture, environment and values in action and enables them to make a more informed decision about whether the school is the right fit for their child.

It is also a great opportunity for our students to take ownership of ‘their school’ and show pride in our school community. By leading the tours, our students demonstrated such strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. These skills are extremely valuable trait to hold, which will continue to be a huge asset to their future endeavours. I am so super proud of this year’s School Leaders and their accomplishment so far this year. Thank you to Jack, Jorja, Casey and Sadie for your commitment to Echuca East Primary School – You all did us proud!

If you, or someone you know, was unable to make it to our Information Night of Wednesday, please don’t hesitate to contact the school to arrange an alternative time for a school tour. We are more than happy to show you around our great school.

Level 3 Lorne Camp

It sure sounded like the Grade 3/4 students had an exciting and adventurous trip to  Lorne Surf Camp earlier this week, where they had the opportunity to go surfing, bush walking, and explore the local rockpools while enjoying the beautiful surrounds that the beachside town of Lorne offers. We were lucky enough that this camp was again included in the Positive Start Government initiative which is to promote the return of camps after the COVID-19 disruptions. This camp was free to all families, which is fantastic!

Overall, the Grade 3/4 students were provided with a unique and memorable experience that will stay with them for years to come. They had opportunities to learn new skills, make new friends, and develop a greater appreciation for the natural world. The photos show the fun, risks, the learning of new skills, and the laughter that all shared.  They had so much fun, that apparently, there are a number of students who plan to move there due to the fabulous trip. J

Thank you to the Level 3 team and parents who gave up their time to make the camp possible.
