Term 2

Welcome back to our students, staff and community members for Term 2. We ended Term 1 on a vibrant note with our first whole school Colour Runs!  Selected students from the SRC helped staff to run the event for each section.  It was wonderful to see all students, staff and family members enjoy this occasion and we hope the term ahead will be just as exciting!

Parent Contact List

At times, the school has had requests from families to share information with other parents.  A Compass feed has be sent with a link to a form for any parents/carers who would like to be added to a contact list for the families within their section. The details shared will only be given to families who complete and consent to the survey. The school is setting up this list however will not be responsible for organising any communication or events

SRC Meeting

This week we held our first SRC meeting for the term.  Classes were asked to provide some ideas on activities that the SRC could support or lead this term.  The SRC reps shared many wonderful ideas and we will see what can be incorporated throughout the term.  We are all also very excited to be attending our very first SRC Leadership Camp at the start of June, where we will be developing our teamwork, communication and initiative skills.

We also welcome aboard Jessie P (Year 12), who was recently been appointed to the role of School Captain. Congratulations, Jessie!

Please enjoy the minutes of our meeting

Vaping: what you need to know

E Cigarettes or 'vaping' is a health and safety concern for students and young people in the community who are often unaware of the risks associated with the practice. Vaping is the act of inhaling a vapour produced by an e-cigarette or electronic vaporizer. The vapour can contain nicotine and other substances and may expose users to chemicals and toxins which are harmful to health. The devices are small and can be easily hidden in a pocket or bag. The most popular disposable vapes resemble large USB sticks or highlighter pens.

Parents, carers, and the community can support the school and our students by being informed about this ongoing concern and to speak to their children about making positive decisions. Additional information to support parents, carers, community, and students can be found at:

If students are witnessed to be vaping or seen in a group where students may be vaping, the school will be following this process:

  • Staff will communicate incident with parents/carers immediately (phone call or email if unable to reach via phone).
  • Parent information sheet about vaping to be shared from the school.
  • Vapes will not to be given back to student but can be offered for parent to collect.
  • Immediate suspension will occur if a student is witnessed vaping or distributing vapes brought from home.  This includes vaping on the school bus.
