ANZAC Day Performances

Congratulations and thank you to our singers who contributed to a moving ANZAC Day ceremony at Doncaster RSL, under the direction of Tina Marchant. We also had lots of student performers in the special assemblies held at school on the first day of term.

Beginner Band and Da Capo Strings First Rehearsals

Next week our senior ensembles Chamber Strings, Symphonic Band and Senior Vocal group head off to Candelbark Farm in Healesville for the annual Music Camp. These students rehearse intensely for two and a half days, mixed in with some fun games and hopefully some new friendships. Part of Music Camp is also the running of House Music where each House will prepare and present a musical item. We look forward to hearing the results of the camp at our Winter Concerts later this term.

Winter Concerts

All music ensembles will be performing at one of the concerts to be held in the Performing Arts Centre on Tuesday 6 June. As we have a record number of students participating in the Music program this year, we do expect tickets to sell out. Please check your child's ensemble/s carefully and make sure you book for the appropriate concert/s :-

Concert 1 - 6:30-7:30pm

Da Capo Strings, Concert Band, Senior Vocal Group, Stage Band and String Group

Concert 2 - 8:00-9:15pm

Beginner Band, Chamber Strings, Euphonix with Senior Vocal Group combined choir, Sempre Strings and Symphonic Band

EDSC Parents and Friends Association will be selling food and drinks between the concerts.

The Music performance uniform (or Performing Arts uniform) that music students are required to buy is for concerts and other official performances. Students do not need to wear this for weekly lessons or rehearsals.

We would suggest moving to purchase these uniform items soon. Although our first concert is not until June, our uniform supplier PSW do not always have all sizes in stock.

Sponsor a Seat in the PAC

We are inviting you to be a part of our Performing Arts Centre as a Seat Sponsor.

With your gift of $300 (Premium Seat in the front section of the theatre)  or $250 (General Seating) each, you can play your part in continuing to upgrade and create a state-of-the-art facility for use by our students, as well as the wider community.

A plaque will be placed on the back of each seat you sponsor.

This donation is fully tax deductible.  A receipt for tax purposes will be mailed to you.
