Science Talent Search

The Science Talent Search (STS) is an annual, school-based science competition open to all primary and secondary students in Victoria.

 

The theme for 2023 is ‘Innovations: Powering Future Industries’. For information, please refer to the STS 2023 Handbook.

 

Students were invited to express interest in participating in Term 1, and involvement was finalised by the end of that term. No further registrations for this year's STS can be accepted. Students have chosen to complete a Picture Story Book, Poster, Game, Computer Program, Science Photography, Video or Working Model exploring this year's theme. The completed Entry Sheet with details of their project was due to be handed to Ms O'Flynn not later than today, Friday 19 May

 

The STS Judging Day is Saturday 5 August from 9am to 10.30am. Students must bring their project to Judging Day, and are required to discuss their entry with STS judges, as follows: 

  • Posters – Scientific Wallcharts, Computer Programs (must bring your own laptop or device), Class Projects will be judged at Methodist Ladies’ College, Kew (Fitzwilliam Street entrance). 
  • Video Productions (video entrants must bring their own laptop or device for their presentation), Science Photography, Working Models, and Inventions will be judged at Parade College in Bundoora (venue to be confirmed).
  • All other projects will be judged online.

STS details have been published on Compass for participating students. Consent and payment of $45 is due by today, Friday 19 May.
