Pastoral Care News

It is currently a crazy world that we live in at the moment and many people are feeling stressed or anxious regarding all the information and misinformation regarding the Coronavirus. If you or your child are finding that these feelings are starting to impart negatively on life then please remember there is lots of support available both at school and within the wider Griffith community. You will all be updated regarding developments here at MCC and the local health services and reputable media services will also keep the community updated if circumstances change.

In the meantime, we can lead by example and demonstrate care and service to others by behaving in a manner that is kind and caring; keep an eye on our neighbours or those within our community who are disadvantaged. We need to support each other and assist where we can; but above all, follow the recommendations that have been approved and shared for the interest of public safety.

On a bright note, this week we have managed to display each homeroom’s bee or koala artwork as part of our major term activity “Bee Kind” on the entrance to the L Block. We have two weeks of fund raising left and the support thus far has been phenomenal. Members of “The C.A.T” will visit homerooms during the week to thank those rooms personally who have donated over and above their target of $100 and hopefully motivate those who are still to donate. For each $10 raised a gum leaf or a baby bee are attached, giving a visual representation of the amount raised. This will be updated each Tuesday. All proceeds are being given directly to support our bees and koalas who were impacted during the fires earlier this year.

Finally, now that the cooler mornings have started it is perhaps a timely reminded to see if winter uniforms fit appropriately and of course, label jumpers. Please contact me if you require assistance or an item from the clothing pool and I would gratefully accept any donations of unwanted goods.

Have a wonderful weekend, stay safe, stay happy but most of all; stay calm.
