Workforce Talk - Mr Jay Grills
On Tuesday 14 August, Uralla Central School was graciously attended by Mr Jay Grills of Jay Grills Tiling. He came to talk to Years 9 and 10 about what it is like in the workforce and how they can make the most of their school time. One of the focuses of the talk, was the usefulness of communication, perseverance and teamwork.
These points were particularly poignant for those students not wishing to continue to Academy II. We thank Mr Grills wholeheartedly for his time and efforts. It was a great talk that will benefit many.
Representative from the University of New England Talk
On 16 August students from the Academy class attended an informative talk given by UNE School Liaison Officer, Stephanie. Students were given an insight into study and life at the University and were also given the chance to ask questions about possible future study at the University. We sincerely thank Stephanie for her time.
Buy a Bale Morning Tea
On Monday 27 August students from Uralla Central School's Academy hosted a morning tea to raise funds for the Buy a Bale campaign. Students created a delicious variety of baked goods that were sold at recess time. After recess the students sold their goods to Uralla businesses and community members. Well done to all the students, parents, carers and staff that worked hard to make the fundraiser such a success. And a huge thank you to Chook-A-Look Eggs, Foodworks Uralla and Woolworths Armidale for your generous donations to the fundraiser.
