Principal's Report

If no mistake you have made, but losing you are. A different game you should play.

The term as always races away from us with only four weeks remaining until the Spring holiday break. With the arrival of September we have obviously reached the Spring season and if we didn't know that the blossoming of wattle and bulbs should be a pretty bright reminder.

Can I wish all of our fathers a Happy Father's Day for Sunday - I hope that it is a special reminder of the extreme privilege that is granted to those of us who are fathers. Take the moment to cherish your children and family and our partnerships with our wives and partners.

I wanted to make special mention of the Academy students, in particular the girls for their efforts in relation to the 'Buy a Bale' drought relief morning tea. It was just an outstanding success and you will read elsewhere that our school and community raised sufficient funds to purchase 50 bales to support farmers across our region. This effort speaks volumes to the culture we are trying to build in our school. A culture that seeks out opportunity, always gives its best and never forgets that there are others less fortunate than ourselves and that sometimes we all have to pitch in together to make things better for others.

Can I remind those in our school community that are doing it tough that we have shower facilities and clothes washing facilities at the school and we are only too willing to help out if you need it - all you have to do is ask. It will never be a big deal - all should be able to say, 'This is your school, this is my school, this is our school.'

I will in every newsletter encourage the purchase of the new uniform. The original plan was that it would be phased in from the beginning of this term until the end of next year - at which point we would say the old one could no longer be used. The take up has been so positive of the new uniform that we will closely monitor the situation and may bring the end date forward. At the assembly this week I mentioned that we will also be introducing sanctions as per the policy and at parent request for those wearing neither the old or the new uniform over the remainder of this term - its a pretty straight-forward equation in the end - WEAR the UNIFORM and DO IT WITH PRIDE!

Many thanks to all the parents who attended the Parent Teacher afternoon, don't forget that if you couldn't make it feel free to contact the school to get your childs' teacher/s to contact you with an update.

Until the next newsletter have a wonderful three weeks.
