The following levies will be on a pay as you go in 2020 (not prepaid):

  • Excursion Levy
  • Athletics Carnival
  • Interschool Sport

All excursions and sports events in 2020 will require both consent and payment when approving Compass Events. Please note we are unable to accept late payment or consent when an event closes due to booking confirmations.

Camps, Sports & Excursion Fund 2020 (CSEF)

The fund provides a payment of $125 for eligible primary school students paid directly to the school, to be used towards camps, sports and excursion costs for the benefit of the student. Families holding a valid means-tested concession card are eligible to apply, as well as certain students and families who fall into a special consideration category.

2020 CSEF Applications

Parents (including guardians) no longer need to submit a new application form each year in most cases.

Parents only need to submit an application form in 2020 if any of these changes have occurred:

  • new student enrolments: students who have started or changed schools in 2019 or if the parent did not apply for CSEF at the school in a previous year.
  • changed family circumstances: such as a change of custody, change of name, concession card number, or new siblings commencing at the school in a previous year.

Use of CSEF

Schools are required to use the CSEF payment for expenses relating to camps, sport and/or excursions and incursions for the benefit of the eligible student.

Some common examples of school-organised programs for which the CSEF payment may be used include:

  • school camps/trips
  • swimming and other school-organised sporting programs
  • excursions/incursions

Allocating CSEF

CSEF payments will be allocated according to DET policy and directed towards school:

  1. camps
  2. excursions/incursions
  3. Swimming and other school organised sporting programs.

Parents will still be required to give consent for all events where CSEF funds have be allocated for payment.

Statements will be sent home next week to families who have unspent CSEF funds.

Students Changing schools

If the student transfers to another Victorian school, the default position is that the value of any unspent portion of the CSEF should follow to the student’s new school, so that the student has access to the full value of the payment.

Please refer to the CSEF Parent Information Sheet Below
