PROGRAM NEWS

BEFORE SCHOOL CARE

The children have been enjoying the cooking in Before School Care and last week prepared and cooked the Zuchini slice for afternoon tea. Children are enjoying learning new cooking techniques.

If the weather continues to be nicer, we are encouraging the children to eat outside for breakfast and in smaller groups to encourage conversations. We are also making paper doves to acknowledge the U.N international day of peace.

AFTER SCHOOL CARE

Junior Program

Our children have enjoyed painting feathers for an interactive creation for the upcoming Art Show. In preparation for Mid-Autumn Moon festival pour children learnt about the meaning of this festival while they made lanterns to decorate our room.

The focus for the next few weeks is to extend the children’s drawings and combine natural materials that can be added to the artworks. Beyblades are an interest to children currently and our Tafe Placement Student has planned a spinning top activity to extend this interest and add some creativity to it.

Middle Program

The children have been enjoying learning the new skill of macramé and working with bead placement in their creations.

Some of the children have inspired knitting with others wanting to learn. This has also encouraged other wool-based activities

The next fortnight focus is the Mid-Autumn Moon festival where we will be making lanterns to decorate out rooms. The children have also been asking for the “Just Dance”, which is a great physical activity for large amounts of children at once

Senior Program

The children have enjoyed creating their magic clay Father’s Day activity as well as being outside to enjoy the nice weather we have been having

Next week we will be creating stress balls as the children have asked for more creative messy crafts and a few of the children have researched and planned some Hogwarts themed baking activities
