Art Show 2019

Thank you to everyone who came along to our third Art Show last week. It was a wonderful evening showcasing the quality visual arts program and student work we have here at Wheelers Hill Primary School. A very big thank you to our visual arts teachers Kathy Orford and Michele Wykes who spent many, many hours organising the show as well as sponsors, display boards, lighting and teaching the students to produce the terrific pieces of art work on display. The high quality and presentation of the show is due to the vision and hard work of these two teachers. I cannot thank you enough!! Thank you also to Claire Furlong (ex-teacher here at WHPS) who helped set up for the show and our parent helpers who gave some valuable assistance to set up and with organisation before the event. I hope you all enjoyed the night and we look forward to another amazing WHPS Art Show in 2021.

Parent / Teacher Interviews

Thank you to all our parents who attended our second Parent / Teacher Interviews earlier in the week. I trust the interviews were a productive opportunity to learn more about your child's progress and where their next steps and goals are for their learning. At Wheelers Hill Primary School we greatly value the relationships between teachers and parents. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress at school, please don't hesitate to contact our teaching staff via email or Compass.

Footy and Sports Colours Day

Thanks to all our students and teachers who dressed up in their favourite footy and sports team colours this morning. Well done to our House Captains who ran and set up the parade as well. We raised $227.25 for the Fighting Cancer Foundation thanks to all of you gold coin donations.

Prep Transition

Earlier in the week  we held our first Prep Transition session and welcomed all our new preps to school. Our new students participated in a variety of games and activities in class and were able to be a Wheelers Hill student for the very first time. Thanks to Ms Richards and Mrs Jarvis who ran an information session for our new parents and to Miss Gallagher and the Prep teaching team for their organisation. There will be three more Prep transition sessions in Term 4.

Staffing Update

Mrs Wright be taking Long Service Leave of most of Term 4. She will be back in the last week of school to help out at this busy time but won't be going back into her class. Miss Karina Ison will be replacing Anne until the end of the school year. Please make Miss Ison welcome next term.

There will be no assembly on the first Monday back school. The first assembly for Term 4 will be on Monday 14th October.

End of Term 3

Happy holidays everyone! I'd like to wish all our students a family a safe and relaxing break over the upcoming holidays. School holidays are a great opportunity for children to engage in fun active events, shows, museums, sports and activities that are designed specially to entertain and engage children of all ages.
