Faith and Wellbeing Assistant Principal's Report

End of Term 1
As we journey towards the end of Term 1 a reminder that classes finish on Friday 27 March 2020 at the usual time of 3.10 pm.
Lent
Although we are no longer able to provide Thursday morning Mass in the Chapel we can continue to respond to the invitation to prayer in Lent . We also have Project Compassion boxes in each homeroom and encourage students to be generous, helping people in need.
In RE classes we have also been giving each student the opportunity (and will continue) to attend the Sacrament of Confession/Reconciliation, which has been a great blessing.
Easter Prayer Service
As we move closer to Easter, we will have a class based Prayer Service on Thursday 26 March 2020 to focus on the Last Supper and the Passion and Death of Jesus. At the start of Term 2 we will focus on the Resurrection after Easter, celebrating the essential and central feast of our faith.
Support of Students
It has been a term with a number of events and situations that we could not have predicted. Some of these have had an impact on our students. If your son or daughter is really finding themselves challenged more than is good for them in any way by events, experiences etc, please let their Head of House know, so as we can support them as best as is possible.
Uniform
A reminder that students are to wear full school winter uniform from the beginning of Term 2. This includes wearing blazers to and from school in Terms 2 and 3. The uniform requirements are in the Student Organiser and in pdf form below. Any issues, please contact your child’s Head of House.
Start of Term 2
Classes commence for Term 2 on Tuesday 14 April 2020 at 8.35 am. We are swapping timetables for Tuesday and Thursday of the first week of Term 2 only. We will run the Day 4 timetable on Tuesday 14 April 2020, with students finishing at 3.10 pm. Thursday 16 April 2020 will run to a Day 2 timetable and classes will finish at 1.36 pm (as usual for Day 2) for Student Progress Meetings. Student Progress Meetings will run from 2.00 pm - 8.00 pm on Thursday 16 April 2020. This is an important time when we get together and work with students, parents/guardians and teachers to give some feedback and make some goals, looking ahead, for the learning of each and every student.
We wish everyone a happy and Holy Easter and pray that the Risen Lord touches your heart and life in new and exciting ways this Easter and you come to know, in a deeper way, God’s incredible love for you.
