Extra student counselling services

Our school has been able to secure a grant for 1 year of extra counselling support as a result of being in one of the zones affected by the 2020 bushfires.

Recently, we welcomed Mrs Lisa Stratton, who has joined the wellbeing team along with Jane and Jodie to provide counselling support to NCS students.

New Drum Teacher at NCS

We welcome Mr Michael Wright who will be teaching drumming lessons at Nowra Christian School.  Michael has been teaching drums in local schools and at his private home studio for the past 15 years.  He has taught many students from Nowra Christian School over the past 10 years. Prior to teaching drums, Michael played drums in various settings, including Christian rock bands and local churches.  He has a passion for teaching and covers all aspects of drumming, including rock, jazz, drum music reading, coordination exercises and drumming rudiments.

If you would like your child to start drum lessons, or learn a different instrument, please register them through this link.

More information can be found on the school website under the drop down 'current families', then 'peripatetic teachers'.

Position Vacant - Primary Teacher Aide

Do you know someone who would be suitable for this role?

Please check for Head Lice

A number of cases of head lice have been reported within our school community (including Secondary).

Head lice are spread mostly by direct head to head contact but may also be spread by sharing of hats, combs and other hair accessories. Anyone can get head lice.

To prevent the spread of head lice, it is recommended you check your child(ren) daily over the next few weeks and on a regular basis thereafter. Head lice are much easier to treat if caught early.

Please inform the school if your child presents with head lice and ensure they are treated before returning.

Premier Transport Group survey

The Premier Transport group are looking at ways to improve the safety around school pick up and drop off areas in our local schools.

They have asked us to provide the below survey link to parents/carers to give feedback on the transport you use.  The survey is only 8 questions and no personal information is required.

Kindergarten 2022 Enrolments

If you have a child starting Kindergarten next year, please complete an enrolment form as soon as possible. Enrolment forms are available from the office or you can download one from our website. We will be holding some Kindergarten Open Mornings during the year. These are tailored for families who do not currently have children enrolled at NCS. There will be other transition opportunities provided for our current families who have a Kindergarten child coming next year.

COVID-19 Test Register Form

It is important that we continue to be vigilant in ensuring that staff and students do not attend school or work if they are unwell.  Please note the following:

  • Students absent or sent home due to flu-like symptoms need to be tested for COVID-19.
  • Staff and students must not return to school or work until they receive a negative COVID-19 result and are symptom-free.
  • Staff and students who have had a COVID-19 test must complete the COVID-19 Test Register before returning to school. This form will require you to upload a screenshot of the test results.
  • If the student or staff member is still displaying ongoing symptoms that are typical of a condition such as seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever), they can provide a medical certificate from their GP to continue to attend school.
