Curriculum Day

Friday the 28th May is a Curriculum Day. No students are required at school.

Inter House Cross Country

On Thursday May 13th, the sun was shining in the morning and there was much excitement and buzz surrounding the house cross country. By the time the afternoon came, the heavens opened up right at the time for our Marlborough students to grab their running shoes on and run in the Inter House Cross country. The 11, 12 and 13-year-old ran approximately 3 km, the 8, 9, and 10-year-old approximately 2 km and the 5, 6 and 7-year-old approximately 1km.

It was great to see such positive attitudes and commitment despite the wet conditions. Many students dressed up in their house colours and a big thank you to Marlborough staff who ran with their students. It was also great to see our older students walk/ run with our foundation students making sure they safely completed the course.

I must give a massive thank you to all the Marlborough community, parents, grandparents, guardians, and all Marlborough staff who so generously gave up their time to act as marshals and supporters along the course and help at the finish line, especially in such wintery conditions. We could not have run this event so successfully without your help.  Thank you to the awesome Jane Barnes for her organisational help. Our First Aider, Neil Butler and our photographer Jenelle Seregin both did a sterling job. Beck Trevillian at the table was invaluable. A huge congratulation to all competitors. 😊

Now for the results, every competitor counted.

1st FORD followed by 2nd JONES by a difference of 0.01, 3rd CAWLEY and 4th KENNY.

The first 5-10 place getters from the 9, 10, 11 and 12/13 year old age group will be invited to participate in the District Cross Country. The District Cross Country is on the afternoon of Tuesday 25th May at Quambee Reserve in Park Orchards. So, get running!

9/10 year olds will be running 2km and 11/12/13 will be running 3 km.
