Parents & Friends Association
The Aitken College Parents and Friends Association is an enthusiastic group of parents and carers who work for the benefit of the entire school community.
The role of the Parents and Friends Association is primarily to help build a sense of community within the school body. This is important as children spend a considerable amount of years in this engaging learning and social environment. It is equally important for parents and carers to be provided with the opportunity to encourage and share this journey.
The Parents and Friends Association were not able to hold events due to the pandemic. However, this did not stop them from looking forward and seeing what the school would like the association to support. With the major Primary School development site beginning, the Parents and Friends were keen to support the school's transition. They provided the College with a new playground facility for the Primary students, located behind the Kitchen Garden facility.
World Teachers’ Day on 30 October 2020 was the perfect opportunity to thank all College staff for their ongoing support during challenging times. The parents were very grateful for the support provided to the students and school community. Each staff member received a gift to express their gratitude.
The Parents and Friends Association organised a Parent Appreciation Christmas and Mother’s Day stall for our Primary School students. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our parent community and to have parent helpers on-site.
