Playing Together

It has been pleasing to see children and parents return to Playgroup with energy and enthusiasm each Thursday. Everyone is now familiar with the setting and space. It's wonderful to see parents and their children engage in informal play as soon as they enter our Playgroup Learning Space. The children are growing in confidence, they are getting to know each other and they are practising positive behaviours that will set them up for success in the future. These behaviours include: turn taking, sharing, including others, questioning and using their fine motor skills.

Recently, the children worked together to create a ball run using cardboard tubes. They worked out how to make a ball travel quickly through the tubes, and took it in turns to perform different engineering roles and help in different ways.

Last week, our Play Group session culminated with the children playing with balloons. It was lovely to see them happy and animated as they used their gross motor skills to keep their balloon in the air and pass it to selected parents and friends.

Thursday 27th May Play Group has been cancelled. We hope to be back next Thursday 3rd June at 9:30am-11:30am. All interested parents with children aged between 0-5 are more than welcome.
