Bob Templeton Shield (AFL)
The Bob Templeton Shield (Year 9/10) was held at Pedrina Park on Tuesday 21st May. Baimbridge College entered a team and although undermanned, managed to put in three solid games where they truly showcased the school values of pride, courage and respect. Baimbridge in their new shorts and socks looked the best out of the four teams – we were the only school that had all participants in uniform. Despite having three less players than the opposition on the field and no reserves, due to late illnesses and injuries, the boys never stopped trying. Mr. Lynch and I were immensely proud of the way every student stuck together and played as a team. At the end of the day Baimbridge lost all three games but impressively remained competitive throughout. In the last game when all the players were feeling tired (understandably) they almost defeated Portland, only going down by 9 points. At the end of the day all players walked off the field with their heads held and rightly so. With so many contributing throughout the day it was hard to pick only a couple of best players. Rawadee Gould won the AFL medal for best Baimbridge player, Captain Brent Wardlaw was a close second. Other players to get the nod where Adam Hamilton, Ryan Anton-Cook and Jacob Cook.
Glenelg District Cross Country
Baimbridge College sent a representative of 37 students to the Glenelg District Cross Country last Friday (17th May), held in Portland. The overcast weather and mild wind made it perfect conditions for running. All students did themselves and the school proud by pushing themselves all the way to the finish line. In highly competitive fields, among eight schools, we had three students finish on the podium. Brendon Patterson won his age group (17 Age), Todd Dymke (15 Age) finished second and Andrew McCaugh (13 Age) finished third.
Everyone who chose to run on the day showed tremendous courage. Overall it was great team effort and finishing third was well deserved.

Great Western Regional Cross Country
On Monday (3rd June), nineteen students from Baimbridge travelled to Warnambool to take part in the Great Western Regional Cross Country. It was a wet windy ride down by bus, but luckily the rain stopped during the competition. The ground was slippery in parts and the wind also made it a taxing run. All the students tried their best and did themselves and the school proud. The competition was extremely strong with up to one hundred competitors in some of the fields. Students had to finish in the top twelve to make it through to the state final. I am still waiting for confirmation, but I believe that we had four students qualify. Results for all the competitors are listed below.
