Sporting Masterplans

MCS students consult on sporting master-plans for Molong

Students from the Molong Central School SRC, along with students from the Year 12 PDHPE and SLR classes recently formed a Youth Consultative Group with regards to the Sporting Precinct Masterplans. These Masterplans have been commissioned by the Molong Advancement Group and will form the basis of future council planning for the Recreation Ground, Hunter Caldwell and the Showground/ Golf Course precincts.

The students initially brainstormed ideas for these areas before breaking into expert groups to focus on the Recreation Ground and Hunter Caldwell.

Councillor Peter Batten, along with Mr Costa, convened the session and were both very impressed with the quality of the ideas and the perspective which the students brought to the process, with a number of completely new ideas being raised which had not previously been considered.

These ideas now feedback to the consultants who will be developing the finalised Masterplans over the next few weeks.

As current and future users of these sporting facilities around town, the perspective which these students have brought to the planning process is certainly very valuable and the manner in which they conducted themselves once again brought great credit to all students of Molong Central School.
