Year 11 and 12 Physics students are having lot of hands-on experience in class, as part of their depth study analysis. Year 11 students have designed, built and modified a speed racer that can travel in a straight line. Once they were successful in this process, the next step was to make an even faster speed racer. Students worked together as a team of three and came up with two speed racers of varying design. Year 12 students are in the process of building a DC Motor. They have come up with a design, however they faced a challenge to make it spin for a while. Students should be commended for their engagement with the investigation and how they are thinking about refining and redesigning their chosen procedure. They also learnt that unexpected results are to be welcomed to refine methodologies and to generate further investigation, which is a key process of learning the concept in Science.
Year 8M and Year 10J students are learning about chemical structure this term. Students are enjoying conducting experiments with various chemicals and metals. These photos show Year 10 students having lots of fun learning how Magnesium Metal reacts with Oxygen. Year9J students are learning about electricity and their application in the real world.
