L.O.T.E

So ….. how much did you understand?

Here’s my English translation:

“Hello, my name is Jayden. I am eleven years old. I come from China and I have been living in Australia for 9 years. There are four people in my family: my father, my mother, my little brother and me. My brother is three years old. We don’t have any pets. My favourite colour is red, but I also like black. My favourite book is “The last Spirit Warrior”. My hobbies are coding, playing soccer and solving problems, and of course I also like learning German. In the future I would like to join the army.”

Jayden has been a keen German student for many years and we are delighted with the wonderful support and assistance he will provide for the German Program at Rangeview this year.

Last week Jayden helped to organise a special German Easter egg hunt for Foundation students. Students were delighted to each receive a German pretzel and an Easter sticker to place in their handmade German Easter baskets. Vielen Dank, Jayden!

Auf Wiedersehen Frau Steiert

Hallo! J

My name is Katarina Steiert and I’m from Mannheim, Germany. After finishing school, I did a teaching degree at the University of Freiburg and graduated last November. I was lucky enough to be offered the chance to work as a foreign language assistant here at Rangeview Primary School before starting the last part of my teacher training back in Germany. Being part of such a motivated and kind team is really inspiring, and I’m looking forward to making a contribution to the strong German program as well as the school community in general!

Liebe Grüße,

Katarina J

It has been so wonderful to have the support and assistance of Frau Steiert for the past couple of months. Unfortunately, Frau Steiert returned home to her family in Germany last week, due to the current Coronavirus pandemic. We are very grateful for the

time we had together, for her invaluable contribution and her dedication to the German program. We wish her all the best for her future teaching endeavors and hope to welcome her back to Australia in the future.

This week all students will receive a German Easter Quiz sheet, with six simple questions about Easter in Germany for students to answer.

To be in the running to win one of three ‘fantastisch’ Easter prizes, students need to place their entries in the yellow German post box (located near the entrance of the German room by Thursday, 16th April, 2020).        This is subject to change depending on when the start of Term 2 begins.

The first three correct entries drawn at the beginning of Term 2 will each receive an Easter basket, filled with special treats.

The competition is open to all students (Foundation – Level 6), but limited to one entry per student. Viel Glück! (Lots of luck!)

Wir wünschen allen Familien schöne Ferien und ein sehr frohes Osterfest. Bitte bleibt heil und gesund!

(We wish all families a nice holiday and a very happy Easter celebration. Please stay safe and healthy!)

Liebe Grüße,

Frau Ulrike Lindner & Frau Kyla Petrilli
