Principal Message

Message from the College Principal Team

Dear Parents and Carers, 

 

We have had a wonderful start to the 2020 school year and hope you have also.

 

To start off the year, we would like to introduce our 2020 school captains, Nelly, Joanna, Kevin and Jasmine.  At the end of last year, they introduced themselves at our assemblies and shared what they like about our College. It was wonderful to hear each student comment on the relationships they have built at Tarneit P-9 College and their ideas for continuing to make our school a wonderful place. We were all incredibly proud of them and we are looking forward to working with them throughout the year.

 

We would like to say a very big thank you to all the members of our community who attended our Family Fun Night last week. We had an amazing turn out and it was wonderful to see so many of our students, parents and staff participating in activities. Our free sausage sizzle was extremely popular with over 1500 sausages cooked and enjoyed by all. Once again, Big Childcare entertained and engaged everyone with some fantastic games! We would like to sincerely thank Big Childcare for their ongoing support of this event, which also included donating the sausages for our sausage sizzle.

 

At Tarneit P-9 College, we value and understand the importance of communication with our community. While we are always available if you have any questions or unsure of information, we also have a range of other communication structures that we encourage our community to access, including:

  • the Compass Parent Portal which is accessible via an app or web browser, provides families with information relating to key events, notes/newsletters, attendance information and options for parent payments and consent. Please note Compass is our main source of communication and we no longer send home paper documents. If you have not signed up for Compass, please contact our Administration office on 03 9749 0506 and we will assist you to do so.
  • our College Facebook page celebrating the exciting events and learning that occurs at our school. We hope you are following our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Tarneit-P-9-College
  • the Tarneit P9 College website that contains our policies and key information about our school http://www.tarneitcollege.vic.edu.au/ .
  • our College newsletter, which is a fantastic visual celebration of the activities and events throughout the term and provides important updates for families.  This year our newsletter will be sent out twice per term, aligned with our school assemblies. In between these dates, we will be sending out rolling communication via the Compass Parent Portal. This will include short articles about key school events, messages from the Principal Team and reminders for our community.
