Inside the Classroom

Class 8 Out and About in the CBD

Class 8 are learning about consumer and financial literacy in mathematics this semester.

While we are out and about we like to talk to people in the community. We caught up with local emergency workers taking a break from training. These guys are prepared for anything!

Staff in the Sugar Mill and Choox took time out to show us around the stores. Imagine all the ingredients they have to purchase to make the goods they sell to their customers.

IGA staff are friendly and helpful as students discuss the best possible prices that work within our weekly budget. They go through items on the shelves and make suggestions for ingredients to make our recipes for cooking tasty.  We received some stunning San Choy Bow tips and went through the check out together.

                         Visit to Parkes Telescope

Last semester students participated in classroom workshops regarding Earth and Space. A perfect topic to cover to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the moon landing. Class 6 and 14  will be doing a day tour of the Parkes Telescope on Thursday 29 August (Week 6). The excursion will further assist the students' understanding of Australian History and space travel. Our students are keen to participate in the day and are already earning rewards that culminate with the excursion. We look forward to sharing photos from the day with the whole school community.
