From the Principal

I hope that everyone had a relaxing, restful and maybe even exciting holiday? I personally enjoyed pottering around the house and catching up with friends. 

Term 3 has had a busy start with a number of staff, student and room changes. I sincerely thank everyone for their flexibility and resilience during this time! 

Welcome back Mrs Kim Turner and Mrs Mel Said, it has been fantastic having Kim back in stage 6 Monday to Wednesday; and Mel working across the school on behaviour regulation and helping out in the spa on Tuesday, thus enabling more students to access hydrotherapy, which is great! A warm welcome to Mrs Letitia Vidler who has transferred in as a School Administrative Officer, Letitia has joined our dynamic Admin team with Mrs Lindy Owens, Ms Nicky Cridland and Mrs Trish Riley in the front office area. We also welcome Mrs Penny Granger who is relieving in the Deputy Principal role Term 3, Penny has extensive curriculum knowledge and joined our staff to further develop her leadership skills.  Penny's substantive position is Assistant Principal at Millthorpe PS.

Personalised Learning Plan (PLP) reviews have been occuring this week, this is a fantastic  opportunity for families and carers to connect with staff, discuss their child's progress and share success. Thank you for engaging in the process and working together. If you are unable to meet with your child's teacher, please contact us to organise an alternative.

This week is Education Week, an event that is held annually to celebrate NSW public education. This years theme is 'Every Student, Every Voice', we have had a range of activities planned each day which may include the opportunity for you to join your child in a learning opportunity in the classroom, or in the community. I have enjoyed seeing the interactions between staff and families during this time.

Finally, if I haven't already met you, or you would like to discuss an idea or improvement for the school, please contact me and organise a time to talk. This could be at parent pick up,  via email or over the phone. I would love to hear from you!
