Naidoc Week

Dear Families,

Next week our school is celebrating NAIDOC week (it actually falls on the school holidays). Classes across the school will be focussing on the 2019 NAIDOC themes of Voice, Treaty and Truth by working through a range of activities that highlight the strengths, achievements, wonder and also sorrow of the Indigenous people of our wonderful country.

As well as this, our school has signed up to support the First Nations Story Time Challenge. Each day, the children will watch and discuss a story that has been passed down from generation to generation, recorded this year by First Nations and Common Ground. The money raised from the Junior Chaplains Crazy Hair Day will be donated towards more stories being recorded so that they are not forgotten and are continually shared.

On Friday 21st, there will a small presentation at assembly about the weeks events.
