Communication @ Belmore

Communication @ Belmore

It was wonderful to welcome our consultant speech pathologist Helen Tainsh back to our school last week. This year, we will continue our collaboration with Helen who supports us to embed the use of PODD and other forms of AAC as a whole-school approach to accessible communication.  We look forward to enriching our students' engagement with their learning through the use of meaningful  communication using their individualised form of AAC, which for the majority of our students is PODD.

Helen was delighted to report that despite the challenges of last year and her limited involvement, Belmore School continues to operate as a flourishing communication community, providing all students with quality access to their preferred mode of communication.

Helen will continue to provide instructional leadership for our staff throughout this year to ensure our school wide communication program continues to be successfully implemented for all.
