Student Leadership – Investiture Assembly

On Thursday 25 February we held our annual Investiture Assembly where over 135 students from Years 7-12 were acknowledged for taking on a leadership role in 2021.

These roles include Lamp Bearers, Student Representative Council, Student Participation Group, House Captains and Social Justice Leaders.

We are pleased to publish these lists to our community and we congratulate all of our student leaders and look forward to sharing with our parent community their work over 2021  as they strive to improve our community for all.

National Day of saying Bullying and Harassment are NOT OK – 19th March

Friday 19 March is the National Day against Bullying and Harassment and our student leaders will be out at lunchtime gaining signatures for our petition against Bullying and Harassment.

In recognition of the day our junior students will receive a ribbon and we have wrist bands to distribute to those students who sign our petition. Cards for parents will also be distributed on the day.

As part of our Pastoral Care program we also be doing activities focused on the topic of Bullying and Harassment in each year level.

Uniform Reminders

As we approach the end of term 1 and the beginning of term 2 we remind all students and parents/guardians that in Term 2 there will be the change over to the wearing of the winter uniform. This includes our winter skirt or pants, white shirt and our school tie.

With this in mind we encourage all students and families to check that they have all of the items they need for the winter uniform. If your daughter requires any uniform pieces please note that the uniform shop is open on Wednesdays and Fridays including during term breaks.

Update Operoo Profiles

With many excursions and camps taking place over the course of a week or month we remind all of our families/guardians of the importance of updating care profiles every time that something may change in relation to your daughter’s health.

This is vitally important to ensure that, on all of these activities, we are able to give our students the very best duty of care.

St. Paul’s Church Car Park Concerns

St. Paul’s Church Car Parks, both at the front and back of the Church, is a very busy area in the morning and afternoons as our families carry out drop off and pick up of their daughters. At this time, we also have St. Paul’s Primary School beginning and ending the day at around the same time.

Sadly, recently we have been advised, by both families and Church staff, of the dangerous manner in which the car park operates at times which, of course, places our students and their safety at risk.

With this in mind, we remind all of our families that the Parish allow us to use the car park on the basis that we will conduct ourselves in a safe and appropriate manner.  Please be mindful of the safety of  your daughters and other members of our community when using the car park.

Pick-Up of Students at the front of the School

Many of our parents come to the front gates and driveway to collect their daughter, which is very pleasing to see.

We do ask parents/guardians, when collecting your daughter’s, that you use the lights on Glengala Road. Crossing the road at other points is very dangerous given the amount of traffic around the school at 3.00pm when dismissal of two schools takes place.

We ask that parents model what is the appropriate thing to do for their daughter’s.

Lions Youth of the Year – Update

In recent years we have had a number of our senior students  participate in the Lions Youth of the Year and in 2021 we have had Joelle Barbar who entered the regional final and was successful in winning the public speaking section of the event.

We congratulate Joelle for the way in which she has represented herself, her family and our school.
