PARKING  REGULATIONS

In partnership with Murrumbeena Primary School, Glen Eira City Council will be patrolling outside the school educating motorists who are parked illegally during the morning and afternoon peak times. Council will be enforcing restrictions around schools to ensure the safe passage of students as they travel to and from school. Safety around schools is a priority for Council and the community as vehicles parked illegally can create safety hazards.

Below are some of the most common offences that would result in a parking fine:

  • No Stopping - Drivers are not permitted to stop in this area for any reason, even for short periods of time to drop off passengers.

  • No Parking (also known as Kiss and Go parking) – drivers are permitted to stop in these areas for 2 (two) minutes if they are picking up and dropping off passengers and they stay within 3 (three) metres of the vehicle. A valid disabled parking permit allows drivers to stay for up to 5 (five) minutes.

Double Parking – This is where a car stops next to another car to pick up or drop off a passenger. This is not permitted as it causes an obstruction to the movement of traffic.”
