Annual Business Breakfast
This month we had the pleasure of hosting our 9th Annual Business event.
The event, run by our school ambassadors and catered for by our senior Hospitality classes is a feature event on our school calendar. Bringing community members, local business and even political parties together, the Breakfast is our way of saying thank you for the amazing connections we have with such a broad range of people and industries. Of course we also use the opportunity to reinforce our links by focusing on a specific theme each event.
This year we partnered with Hunter Anzac Memorial Limited (HAML), and were joined by Duncan Burck and Craig Wade, both Directors of HAML. We are very fortunate to be partnering with HAML to be the lead school in bringing to life the local ANZAC stories and creating legacies as part of the Branxton to Greta cycleway. Moving forward our QUEST faculty will be working to establish ways as part of History subjects to commemorate and thank our brave servicemen and women.
We also tool advantage of the breakfast to share some success stories. A huge thanks goes out to Lucy, Emma & Paul who spoke about the way scholarships are enabling them to reach their goals. In particular we'd like to acknowledge the Lincron Scholarship, provided by a local business which gives financial support for students completing Year 11 & 12.
Another acknowledgement to local business came from Charlotte and Chenika who shared the stories of their School Based Traineeships. Both girls are undertaking traineeships whilst completing school with Kip Hunter Valley and Alfabs respectively. What stood out was the way in which these opportunities is bringing out the best in the girls, allowing them to each learn more about themselves and their potential to reach personal goals.
We must also thank, local bakery Kurri Bread Basket for their ongoing support of this event. Their generous contribution enables our Hospitality Team to create amazing menus year after year.
