Dear Families
I hope all our mums have a great Mother’s Day on Sunday. This is such a special day when we celebrate one of the most precious people in our children’s lives. We appreciate everything our mums do for our children so hopefully all our mums will be able to put their feet up and relax and enjoy being spoilt on Sunday. Our thoughts are with those of us who have lost their mothers in recent times. We hope the happy memories you have of your mum will give you support and comfort.
Our Mother’s Day Stall was held today so I hope you enjoy the presents your children have bought. Thank you to our PFTA members for organising the stall and purchasing the presents for our children.
Don’t forget to come along to our Mother’s Morning on Friday where you can be pampered, dance, make some jewellery just to name a few activities. It begins at 7.45am and will end at 9.00am. Once the morning activities end we will have a prayer service followed by morning tea in the staffroom.
This is a great morning for our school community so come along and have some fun with your children.
Confirmation
Over the next two weeks our Year 6 children will participate in their final preparations to be confirmed on Sunday May 21st at St Patrick’s Cathedral. Last week our parents and children participated in a faith evening learning about the significance of being confirmed from Sr Rita, who is a Josephite nun and as part of her ministry she works with refugees. Her message to the children was to live out their ‘confirmation’ by caring, supporting, and helping others. She gave some great examples of people who have shown compassion to others - Nic Marchesi and Lucas Patchett who began the free mobile laundry and the homeless and Socceroo, Awer Mabil who began the Barefoot for Boots which promotes better health and education for refugees. These people are great role models for our children and that they can use their message to support others around them.
Please keep these children in your thoughts as they continue to prepare to be confirmed.

Here is a recap of the day from Matilda W & Deklan R
On Friday May the 5th about fifty students from St. Annes went to East Sunbury Oval and competed in the cross county. There were ten schools that we competed against and only some of us made it into the next round. It was great to represent St. Annes at the cross country. Overall out of the big schools St. Annes came second and we were four points behind the winners. We all tried our best and had a great time!
Our Ninja Playground
Over the next few weeks our children will have the opportunity to use our new Ninja Course. We have had two classes at a time completing the course at our recess and lunch breaks. It will be opened to our children once they are aware of expectations and how to use the obstacles correctly. Our children are very excited to have a go and see how successfully they can complete the course.
Positive Behaviour For Learning - PBL
We continue to focus on being responsible. I have been pleased with the number of children who are meeting our expectations as evidenced by the number of ‘value cards’ our children are receiving.
Our children are earning points for their Teams and at the moment Edmends (Gold) is winning followed by Crowley (red), Mackillop (blue) and Feenan (Green)
We continue to encourage our children to follow the group plan, follow directions and go to a quiet place when they need to calm down.
At home you can reinforce positive behaviour, have your children do jobs around the house, allow them to face natural consequences and learn from their mistakes and encourage them to walk away when they are feeling dysregulated.
If we do this and work together then our school will be a great place to be!
God Bless
