1. You wouldn't guess what we did on Monday! some kids in the Year ¾ classes got chosen to do University Fractions( with other schools). Everybody who got chosen had fantastic fun!( And a bit of thinking, which made them quite tired.)
While we were working out the fractions, the kids noticed that they were doing a bit of art. The kids were working out the fractions and while they were working the fractions out, the fractions were getting smaller and smaller and turned into a picture of a spiral. We all felt very tired by the time we were done.

The Amazing Raptors
2. “So this is the Raptor” Jessica the trainer clearly stated and with one lift of its small wings the bird took off and flew right over my head! I was shocked my heart was pounding not because I was scared but because of how excited I was.
Today the 3s to 6s went to Healesville Sanctuary. On the way we saw kangaroos, sheep, horses and cows but the highlight of my day was the birds show, Spirits of the sky. The amazing birds blew my mind, because of how well they were trained. All of them were so beautiful and brightly coloured but the one that really caught my eye was the raptor. From the second it came out I was astonished.
Did you know that the raptor is one of the only birds out of two that can hover? I didn’t know that. As I carefully watched the magnificent bird fly to a high perch and position its wings I felt a bit nervous but I didn’t know why. The wind picked the bird up and it began to hover. The raptor had done it. I was in deep awe and amazed!
After that raptor had come out a much bigger raptor flew in but this time instead of having beautiful colours on their feathers, this raptor had more neutral colours but it was just as amazing. Jessica (the bird trainer) gave a rock to the raptor and a fake ostrich egg. On the first hit on the egg it missed but on the second try it cracked it open! Yay!
This was an amazing experience.

The Spirits of the Sky
(Healesville Sanctuary)
3. I felt a hard movement sweep through my hair. It was a feeling I had never felt before. I looked up and was amazed at the sighting of a Raptor flying in the sky like a magical fairy. It fluttered and hovered and dashed through the heads of people that were also mesmerised at the beauty.
The Raptor flew back to the presenter. Can you believe it? I certainly can’t. The birds were trained so well. Well yes, I was at a bird show at Healesville Sanctuary and it was truly amazing.
One by one the birds were coming in and my heart was falling in
love with each and everyone of them. One act really
surprised me, a black breasted buzzard called Beatrice cracked
open an emu egg with a rock and the black breasted buzzards
aren’t trained to do this they actually do this to hunt for prey.
The show was over and we went to see all the majestic birds locked in a special enclosure. Two birds that really caught my attention was the pink cockatoo and the red tailed black cockatoo. We looked at a few more birds and animals like the Tasmanian devils. They were really cute but when they showed their frightening teeth they weren’t as cute as I thought.
We had looked at a lot of animals but it was sadly time to go back to school. We all sat in the bus and me and my friend Isabella were chatting all the way back mostly about a game on Roblox that both of us love so dearly.
