Sick Bay goes paperless!

As mentioned on Compass last week, we are now paperless in the sick bay!  If your child attends sick bay for any reason  you will now receive an SMS to your phone at the time of the visit to sick bay.

What will it look like?

The SMS will be headed ‘SICKBAY VISIT’ and will state your child’s name, a brief reason for the visit, the treatment provided and the outcome.  This replaces the yellow sick bay note you would have previously received.

What if my child bumps their head?

If your child has a bump to the head parents will continue to receive a phone call (or a message left on your answering service) to advise you directly, in addition to receiving an SMS.

What if my child needs to go home?

If your child needs to go home as they are unwell or suffered a more serious injury, parents will continue to be notified by phone from office staff to arrange for the student to be picked up.  An SMS will also be sent once the child has been collected.

Who will receive the SMS?

The SMS will be sent to the mobile number of the person listed on your child’s enrolment form as Adult A.  It is important that all emergency contact numbers are kept up to date.  You can check this on your Compass parent portal, or via the Student Updates form when it comes home to you to check.

If you have any questions regarding this new process, please come and speak to the office staff.
