Grade 5 Sovereign Hill Camp
Our Grade 5s have returned from an amazing few days in a time machine and visiting the 1800's. Thanks to Anika and Charlie for the following reports.
On Monday 15th May the Grade 5’s went on camp to Sovereign Hill and we did so many fun things like gold panning, writing with ink and so much more. The thing I liked the most was the gold pour and how cool it was when it ended up to be a gold block and we also got to buy lots of sweets and toys to play with. I also liked going to school and pretending like I was from 1851 because I got to dress up and experience how people lived in 1851. Our teacher (Mam) gave this quote to us I will never forget, “In costume, in character.” This camp was spectacular and it is a camp I would recommend to so many people and it’s an experience I will never forget.

The thing I liked the most when we went on camp was when we saw the gold pouring. That was an experience I will never forget and I probably won’t do that again in my lifetime. I would recommend it because I don’t know about the others, but I loved it and was fascinated to see it. Another thing I loved was living and acting like I was a kid from 1851. This was amazing because you got to dress up and aside from having lots of fun, you learned so much by the end of the experience. I knew so much and was so grateful that we got to experience something like that because I’ve always wanted to live in the olden days. I think I can say it on behalf of grade five, thank you so much for the experience we will never forget it...

District Cross Country
Good luck to our students who will be representing the school at the District Cross Country on Monday. Training sessions have been held to ensure our runners are at their best. Lets hope it doesn't rain!
Grade 6 Ski Camp
Students who are attending Ski Camp later this year had an information meeting this week and should have brought home some information. Please talk to your child and let your teacher or Andrew Wastie know if you didn't receive this.
High School Transition
Thank you to parents for returning the Year 7 transition forms promptly. They will now be forwarded to the relevant high schools and confirmation of places will occur later in the year.
Digital Experts Academy
The Year 6 students have begun working an online course called the Digital Experts Academy. It is a gamified platform that helps them to develop the skills and knowledge to be both resilient and ethical in their use of technology. Students have been asked to complete this as part of their homework over the next two terms. Parents are actively encouraged to work with their child on this task as it is a fun way for the family to learn together.
Whilst students only needed to complete Module 1 for the first task, many have enjoyed the platform so much they continued and have now completed all three modules ahead of time. Below are the students who have received their certificates this week.
