Crazy Hat Day

Crazy Hat day, once again, was an extravaganza of weird and wonderful creations.

Thank you to all the children and teachers who participated in helping raise money for the Dolphin Research Institute. There are only two known resident populations in Victoria; one in Port Phillip Bay (approximately 120 individuals) and the other in the Gippsland Lakes (approximately 63 individuals). Burrunan dolphins are social animals and are most commonly seen in pods of 2-30 . We raised $110 which will go towards supporting the Dolphin Research Institute in Hastings.

Reconciliation Week

In acknowledgement of Reconciliation we were proud to have Skyla Lauch, a proud Gunditjmara Kirrae Wurrung-Bundjalung woman in our 5/6 classes to share her culture and the Boon witting culture of caring for the land. This was funded by our Climate Action Grant 2022 from the Mornington Peninsula Shire.

World Oceans Day

This week is 8th June is World Oceans Day. Our world shares one ocean , that connects us all. For every three breaths you take, two are from oxygen created by plankton, algae and some bacteria that can photosynthesise from the ocean.

As a Catholic School  Care for Creation is very important.  We like to foster and show respect for the Creator by our stewardship of creation. By teaching and caring for our earth we can protect the planet for future generations.

What we have been learning about in Sustainability.

Over the last few weeks we have been learning about recycling, and germinating seeds, in our sustainability classes. These are our Crazy Critter containers, planted with lettuce. We also tasted our alfalfa seeds that germinated.
