Religious Dimension

On the 21st of May, the year five and six students celebrated our Confirmation with the support of our loving families, sponsors and the amazing teaching staff at St Joseph's.

On this special afternoon, we were anointed by our Bishop, Bishop Tony. We were so grateful to have him there to take the Mass, especially as he had taken the time to visit us beforehand, teaching us the significance of Confirmation and the many lessons we can take with us on our faith journey. It was an afternoon full of joy and recognition of the gifts of the Holy Spirit we were able to receive.

Catholic Schools Week–

During the week of the 15-19 May 2023, we celebrate Catholic Schools Week. An annual event that recognises and acknowledges the sacred work of our schools and how they seek to journey with every student. Each moment of that journey presents opportunities to encounter the Mystery and all-embracing love of God: through our relationships, our learnings, our liturgical celebrations. During this significant week, may we strive to live in active service of Jesus and His mission as we celebrate together during Catholic Schools Week and always.

National Sorry Day

National Sorry Day is an annual day of commemoration and remembrance of the Indigenous Australians impacted by government policies of forcible removal that resulted in the Stolen Generations, held on the 26 May each year.  This is a day to acknowledge the strength of Stolen Generations Survivors and reflect on how Australians can all play a part in the healing process for the people and nation. While this date carries great significance for the Stolen Generations and other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Australians also commemorate it right around the country.
