A piece of prose from our school crossing supervisor

Oakleigh Grammar has a new building, it is named the N.P Nikolakakis Centre for Academic Excellence.

An excellent choice of name; it matches the school's excellent education of their students, which, around South East Asia, is gathering fame.

The building though modern, is of an aesthetical design of which the school's community will make good use, as within its walls, the students' educational enjoyment of knowledge will surely shine.

School drop offs - overtaking

It has been drawn to our attention that some cars have been cutting through onto the side of oncoming traffic to go around the cars that have stopped to drop off students.

There have also been many occasions whereby cars that have stopped with their indicator on to turn into a parking spot, have lost their spot to the car behind that has sped around on the wrong side of the road to take the parking space before the car currently occupying the space has reversed out.

While we understand that everyone is pressured by time, we kindly remind parents to drive with caution and awareness for the safety of those around us. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

School Crossing

Follow the safe road crossing procedure – STOP, LOOK, LISTEN and THINK.

  • STOP one step back from the kerb or shoulder of the road if there is no footpath.
  • LOOK in all directions for approaching traffic.
  • LISTEN in all directions for approaching traffic.
  • THINK about whether it is safe to cross the road – when the road is clear or all traffic has stopped.

Reminder - school fees are now due

This is a reminder to all parents that all overdue fees must be paid in full, or an approved payment plan must be in place before your child can commence each term.  Please contact our Credit Officer, Mrs Maria Koutelas if you cannot finalise your account.  mkoutelas@oakleighgrammar.vic.edu.au

Bus fees

Just a reminder that you are now billed based on your days booked for the school bus, not your usage. No refunds are available for changes.

Lost property

Please check your child’s school uniform to ensure they have not accidentally taken a peer’s blazer / sport jacket / etc. home with them by mistake.

Please also ensure all of your children’s uniforms are clearly named to ensure the correct uniform is returned to them if found in the playground or taken to lost property at the front of the canteen.

We have several blazers and jumpers that have been left at reception with no name on them. Please visit the front of the canteen or contact reception@oakleighgrammar.vic.edu.au to make an inquiry.
