Pirate Day - Thursday 8th June

A reminder that next Thursday, 8th June, we will be celebrating, “Pirate Day” here at Delacombe Primary School. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness and funds for Childhood Brain Cancer research.

Students are invited to come to school dressed as a Pirate and bring along a gold coin donation. Those students who do not dress up, are allowed to wear casual clothes.

We understand that the rising cost of living is having an impact in most households, and do not want to place any extra pressure on families. We encourage you to have a hunt around home to see what you already have, that can be used to create a Pirate costume. Some dark track suit pants, a white top and a strip of fabric around the waist, and suddenly you have a pirate!! Perhaps you could use a sheet of newspaper to create a pirate hat, or a piece of paper, and some ribbon can easily be used to create an eyepatch!

Our Junior School Councillors will be collecting the gold coins and we promise not to make anyone walk the plank!
