Principal's Message

Liam Buckley

We acknowledge that Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne are situated on the lands of the five language groups that make up the Kulin Nations, who have walked upon and cared for this land for thousands of years.

We pay respects to their Elders past, present and future, and commit to the ongoing journey of reconciliation.

Dear Families

Welcome to Week 4 at St Joseph's. I hope that you all were able to celebrate the wonderful women and mothers in your lives. My beautiful mum lives in Spain and each year I have to make sure I say Happy Mothers Day on three different days; the English date, Spanish date and of course the Australian Mothers Day. I have no idea why they are on different dates but mum deserves the extra love anyway.

I also would like to commend all the amazing women who work at St Joseph's. We have an outstanding group of caring, compassionate and committed teachers and staff. I have nothing but admiration for you all.

And of course the St Joseph's mums!! You are the most amazing group of people to work with. Thank you for supporting our school with your time and talent and energy. You all make this school so vibrant and special. Thank you also to everyone who helped with the Mothers day Brekkie on Friday too.

I encouraged you all to engage with the feedback for MACS and to chat to Kelly or Suze who are representing you at the Working Party on Thursday. Please contact me if you would like to chat or need support during this 'process'.

We're going to the Zoo

Next Wednesday we are all going to Melbourne Zoo for a science based excursion.  We won't need extra supervision but parents are welcome to make their own way to the zoo and join us if they like.

Congratulations Emma

Our wonderful Learning Support Officer Emma got engaged recently. We wish you the happiest and healthiest future together with Marco.

Father David

Father David will be leaving the Mission in June. His message was in the bulletin at the weekend. We thank you for the support you were able to provide and wish you well in your endeavours.

Fire Brigade

The local Fire Fighters cam to school on Monday morning to brighten up the students day (and a couple of staff members!)

Our beautiful Foundation students enjoyed the educational visit.

HOLT Sport

We started the HOLT District Sports with wins in netball and footy against St Catherine's. We had students from Year 3 joining our team and they all played with spirit and represented the school so well. Thanks to Nick Harbour for umpiring again!!
