Principal's News

Courage, Faith, Love

Dear Parents and Friends of St Agatha's Primary School,

We are preparing to celebrate Catholic Education Week. This year's theme is simply 'Places of Encounter'.  When I think about this year's theme, I think about the story of the Road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35) as a metaphor for places of encounter in Catholic schools today. The Road to Emmaus narrative recounts the journey of two disciples who encountered the resurrected Jesus while walking on the road to the village of Emmaus.

The disciples' encounter with Jesus on the road transformed their lives. They were filled with joy and rushed back to Jerusalem to share the Good News. At St Agatha's, our goal is to provide an education that not only imparts knowledge but also helps our students grow in faith, character, and virtue. During Catholic Education week we will acknowledge the work of all staff to create places of encounter where students can deepen their relationship with Christ, engage in a vibrant faith community, and be transformed by their encounter with the living God.

The new Director of the diocese of Sale, Mr Paul Velton has recorded his message for us about Catholic Education Week.

For Catholic Education week we are running a whole school prayer service on Tuesday 9:15am. All parents are welcome to attend. We also have our whole school mass to celebrate Our Lady Help of Christians on the 24th May at 2:00pm. Again, parents are most welcome to join us at the St Agatha's Church for this special occasion.

During Catholic Education week, we are running Open Days for prospective parents to tour the school. The tours have been led by our Year 6 School Captains who do an outstanding job. Our Foundation classes for 2024 are filling quickly! If you have a child beginning foundation in 2024, please ensure you download or collect an enrolment form from the school office as soon as possible.

Thank you to the parents who have completed the Insight SRC Survey. Your input is very much appreciated!

I hope your week is filled with joy!
