Stage 3

A message from Stage 3

It is hard to believe we are halfway through Term 2! The first half of the term has been filled with a variety of exciting academic, sporting and cultural opportunities for Stage 3 and we are looking forward to many more in the last half of the term.

Stage 3 STEM Day

Last Thursday, students from Stage 3 attended an excursion hosted by Armidale Secondary College which incorporated 450 Stage 3 students from across the New England area. Students engaged in a variety of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activities, which were run by the Future Teachers Club which, supported by UNE, consists of high school students from ASC, Guyra Central, Uralla Central and Macquarie Fields High School. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the learning experiences and were excellent representatives of Ben Venue.

Oracy Project

Stage 3 have been engaging in explicit lessons every Monday and Wednesday morning to support their oracy skills by improving speaking skills through the development of vocabulary.

Eisteddfod

Many students from Stage 3 have been involved in the Eisteddfod over the past week including individual, class and senior choir performances. Thank you to Mrs Michelle Porter and class teachers for providing students with these opportunities to perform.
