Principal's Message

Congratulations to our students and teachers who have competed in the Eisteddfod. View Mrs Porter's creative arts report in this newsletter for further details.

School Bytes

Our new payment system is now operational and is our preferred method for completing permission notes and making payments. Please click here to register your School Bytes account. Log in to the parent portal to make payments, view balances and see payments made, once you have a registered account.

We ask that School Bytes be used in preference to sending cash in with children, as the new system is more convenient for families, more streamlined for our administrative team, and allows teachers to focus on teaching in the mornings, rather than collecting and accounting money.

A link to School Bytes and guides to completing tasks in School Bytes are now available under the 'Make a payment' tab at the top of the school website.

The Food Fair

The P&C's Multicultural Street Food Fair, held last Thursday, was once again a fantastic night of celebration of the diverse cultures within our school. The success of the night was a testament to the hard work of our dedicated P&C. In addition to the P&C, I want to recognise the cooks, chefs, sous chefs, scullery maids and dish boys, without whom the feast would not have been possible. Thanks to the culinary talents of our families, and students of Armidale Secondary College, all 300 diners enjoyed a delicious selection of cuisines from over 20 cultures. Add to this the dulcet tones of Village Roadshow and the dancing talents of Poonam Pande - what a night!

Pokemon Club

Once a week, Pokemon enthusiasts have the opportunity to meet in S2B to play games, create their own cards and learn more about Pokemon. The club has been started to provide a common space for students to engage with others with similar interests.

The first rule of Pokemon Club, is that you do not trade in Pokemon Club.
The second rule of Pokemon Club, is that you do not trade in Pokemon Club.

While we strongly discourage trading due to the conflict and upset caused when trades are inequitable or when children later regret their decisions, some students will choose to trade in the playground. If your child brings Pokemon cards to school, please ensure that they either understand the concept of trading (i.e., they will not get their cards back), or that they do not trade at school.

As with all toys, all care and no responsibility is taken by the school in the event of loss or damage to these items.

New play equipment

Of all the new equipment we have introduced into the playground with the opening of the new shed, the cardboard sheets are by far the most popular!

An Evening with ACOS

An Evening with ACOS will be held on Thursday 10 August from 6 pm at Armidale Secondary College. Further details will be provided closer to the time, but please save the date!
