2023 Maths Olympics

On Wednesday 17th May we ran our annual Year 6 Maths Olympics for Year 6 students from our local primary schools as an Education Week activity.

Students from Horsham West, Haven, Horsham  – 298 and Rasmussen campuses and Natimuk  and Ss Michael and John's Primary Schools, and Holy Trinity Lutheran College all attended and participated in 3 rounds of mathematical challenges. The last round of competition was particularly competitive and loud, with students having to run to receive their questions and have their answers marked. Educational Support staff members and staff members of the Maths Key Learning Area from Horsham College were enlisted to assist throughout the day and enabled the smooth running of the event.

Round 1 was won by the HTLC Team 3, Round 2 was won by Natimuk 'The Apex' and Round 3 was won by the HPS Team 4.  HTLC Team 3 team were the overall winners for the day. 

We would really like to take this opportunity to thank Shelton and Lane Stationers for their sponsorship for the day; without their support we would not be able to have such a big and successful event. Another big thank you to Ms McIntyre and Mr Rigas for their unfailing efforts to help in the lead up to and on the day.
